Terms

Last updated 26 October 2026

These terms apply to every project 8Caps takes on. Together with the written scope we send you, they form our agreement. If the scope and these terms ever disagree, the scope wins.

Scope and price

After our call we send you a written scope: what we’ll build, what’s included, and one fixed price. Work starts only once you’ve agreed it. The price doesn’t change unless you ask for something outside the scope, and we’ll price any extra work in writing before doing it. Extra work only goes ahead if you say yes.

Reviews and changes

We share the work with you on a private preview link. Changes within the agreed scope are included until you’re happy. New features or a change of direction count as extra work.

We need your content, access and feedback to keep things moving. If we haven’t heard from you for 30 days, we may pause the project and agree a new timescale when you’re ready.

Payment

You pay nothing up front. When you’re happy with the work, we send a Stripe invoice for the agreed price, payable online by the due date shown on it. Until it’s paid, the work stays on the preview link and isn’t handed over. There’s no deposit. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.

Running costs

Third-party services, such as your domain, hosting, software subscriptions and any AI or usage-based services, are set up in your name and paid by you directly to each provider. We don’t mark them up. Your scope lists each one with its expected cost before you agree. For usage-based services we agree a monthly spending cap with you.

If you don’t go ahead

You can stop at any point before handover. If you do, you don’t pay, and we don’t hand over anything we’ve built. Either of us can end a project by email, and if we end it, you owe nothing.

Founding client price

The £495 founding price applies to the first five businesses that haven’t worked with us before to agree a written scope on a standard package, with one place per business. It ends when five scopes have been agreed or on 31 March 2027, whichever comes first. Your place is held from the day you agree your scope.

Handover and ownership

Once your invoice is paid, the work goes live and we hand it over. From then on, what we built for you is yours. Your content and data are yours throughout. We keep the right to reuse our general tools, methods and know-how, and some parts may rely on third-party or open-source software under its own licence.

You confirm you have the right to use any content you give us, such as text, photos and logos. We’ll only show your project in our portfolio with your permission.

After handover

There’s no subscription and no ongoing commitment. For 30 days after handover we fix anything that doesn’t work as agreed (see below). After that, any changes, fixes or support are priced in writing before we do them, and only go ahead if you say yes.

Liability

If something we hand over doesn’t work as agreed in the scope, tell us within 30 days of handover and we’ll put it right at no cost. Our total liability for a project is limited to the price you paid for it, and we aren’t liable for indirect losses such as lost profit or lost business. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
